Hello!
I'm hoping someone can share some insight if they have traveled to either the towns of St Peter or St Maddalena. We will be spending two nights there in early October, on the last leg of our honeymoon trip through Italy. I know about Speckfest and we will not be in the area that weekend - so that does not play a factor. We will only be spending 2 nights, expecting to arrive by about 4pm on our arrival day and have one full day following.
We are having a hard time deciding on staying in the town of St Peter (lodging at Viel Noir) or staying in the town of St Maddalena (lodging at Hotel Tyrol).
The towns are not far from each other, but are different scales and while St Maddalena seems to have the preferred view, the town of St. Peter looks so charming! My question is, is either town more preferable over the other. If so, why might you feel that way?
While in the area we'd like to see the churches of St. Maddelana and hike the Adolf Munnkel trail, and enjoy some time at the Geisleralm or Gschnagenhardt-Alm Rifguios. It seems that we may not have as much time to hang out and explore the town of San Pietro - but would like to make sure we are not missing an opportunity to stay someplace some of you may have loved exploring!
