Our Apartment was canceled

I just found 39 rentals on Airbnb for Sorrento, 4 bedrooms 3 bathrooms for your dates.

Thanks so much but what site are you on....we couldn't find, maybe we're not looking at the right site??? We were coming in from Naples airport by bus....maybe places are too far without a car?

You might try Booking.com and limit to apartments, guesthouses and any other property types that look like they might work for your group. Please note that you will have to put the ages of the kids and that they will be considered adults if the are too old.

I tested your dates with the apartments and guesthouses boxes checked and a total of about 40 options popped up. Most were 2 bedroom, some were 3 bedroom and a few were 4 bedroom. You might find some possibilities where you could rent 2 smaller apartments in the same complex.

The major issue may be that 3rd bathroom. You might need to look for a separate, 1 bedroom apartment for that person.

Sort your results by review score, take a look at the facilities and pictures, and scroll down to see all the options. With your particular situation, I wouldn't do a lot of heavy filtering at first.

Choose your favorites and use the Contact the Host box to send a message outlining your special needs.

Of course, you can also search for a variety of other types of lodging using Booking.com.

Thanks everyone for all your help. We did find a place around the same price, floor plan is not as perfect but we can make do. The great thing is the location, it's on the main square! OMG we are so happy!

Jo, I am so happy that you were able to find something, but the fact that your original apartment was cancelled is concerning. Did they say what the error was? When you originally booked, did you receive a confirmation code, and did you pay anything up front?

Jo, I'm very happy you were able to find suitable accommodations. Luckily they left you enough time to be able to find something else!

I’d be interested also in know what agency you booked the arartments through. We booked our first European apartments this year for an upcoming summer trip to Italy and so far there has been good communication but I’m a little apprehensive about some aspects of apartment renting.

EDIT: I gave up on Paris because I could not find any on a couple of websites that met our official # requirement, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, air conditioning and price requirements. We ended up booking two hotel rooms there for a week but in Florence, Venice and Rome we booked apartments through HomeAway.

Mona, I've used Airbnb and HomeAway in the US and in Europe and I've never had a problem but no one site is perfect. Problems do happen as with any aspect of travel but hopefully your host or the company you worked with can quickly resolve the problem for you. Do as much research as you can, I look at the apartment with google earth to make sure the location is as stated and not in an undesirable area, I read all of the reviews and I ask questions of the host before I book to see if they respond quickly.

I don't think you should worry about using either site, this is the first time we have had any problem in our many years with either and will continue to use. Yes we did receive a confirmation number and pin... we're giving the benefit of the doubt thinking there was an oversight because the apartment was listed on both sites. The owner is looking for another place but we did find the one. All smiles now!!
