OT cruise ship casinos and money

We are staying in Rome for 4 days and then transferring to a cruise ship for 12 days. My question is do we take American currency to gamble with or will they convert our money to Euro currency to gamble with. Sorry this may be off topic, but appreciate any help.

Linda, why don't you contact the cruise line - they will know that for certain.

Gela,
After 2 days of emails to the cruise line with no real answer, asking the question here seemed to be an EASIER way. Sorry this is off topic, but anyone else?

Knowing how cruise ships work, they will probably allow you to convert your money (at a high markup or with a high fee, of course) to euros. Be smart, use your ATM card to get euros. Then select a limited amount and quit gambling after losing only that much.

Cruise ships use dollars. If it is a non-major cruise line it might use something else.

What cruise line are you travelling on. We just got off a Royal Caribbean cruise and they use American dollars as do most of the larger cruise lines.
