Ostia to Civitavecchia

We have been to Ostia Antica by train from Ostia and wish to return. We plan on staying in Ostia for two nights and then taking the train to Civitavecchia. I'd like to only do trains and not buses. We will have a carry-on and a larger piece of luggage each. This is in November 22-3, just when the Civitavecchia Express has ended (ends Nov 1). Here is what Rome2Rio gave me:

Lido Centro
31m by tram every 30 minutes
Exit Porta S. Paolo
Change / Transfer at Roma Ostiense
47m by train every 30 minutes to Civitavecchia

Is this practical for two reasonably fit 70+ folks who aren't pressed for time. Like I said, we are doing this train adventure the day before the cruise and staying overnight at the port of Civitavecchia.

Always thankful for advice!

Ya, you could. that works. We have boarded in Civit.... four times but have always stayed in the Termini area just to keep it simple. We have considering in or near Civit.... but there is not much there. It is just a run of the mill port city. Then you have to get from the train station to your hotel and then from the hotel to the port. If you take the train you just walk to the port. The train between Termini and Civit... is three to four hour, and about an hour. Think the fastest train is 45 mins and slowest around an hour 15.. It is basically a commuter run.
