Ostia Antica open May 1, 2018 to self guided tours?

I was told that Ostia Antica was open on the holiday, May 1, 2018, but just to self-guided tours. Can someone verify this? Thank you for your help.

Search the internet for their official site. That would be your best source of information.

The site is in Italian and there is no option to translate to English. I appreciate your help.

According to the website the site is closed only New Years Day and Christmas Day. It’s an easy site to visit by yourself and there is a good map available at the ticket booth....or at least there was when I was there a few years ago. Well worth the visit without the crowds of Pompeii.

Thank you for your help.

What has made it confusing are posts like this one on Rick Steves Italy forum:
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/rome-on-may-1st-2018
"I can tell you two places that won't work (closed per their websites): Ostia Antica and the Pantheon. This is just a guess, but I think you'll find churches open for at least part of the day. I hope one of our more experienced Italian hands can comment on that."

Also, this website: https://www.romewise.com/rome-in-may.html
"The following sites are CLOSED on May 1 2018:

Vatican Museums (Sistine Chapel)
Capitoline Museums
Castel Sant'Angelo
Ostia Antica"

I saw no guides so assume that it is only self-guided tours.

deckermd, you can get a close enough translation by copying the Italian text and pasting into google or bing translate.

Translated from the official website:
http://www.ostiaantica.beniculturali.it/it/orari-e-tariffe/

"Il sito rimane chiuso tutti i lunedì, il 1° gennaio e il 25 dicembre"
The site is closed every Monday, January 1st and December 25th

EDITING: the website I pulled the info above from should be the "official" one but here's what I would do? Email them for the most current information.:

I didn't hear back from the official website, but from another resource who said they had called them. They are open May 1, 2018. The resource gave me the sites telephone number. To confirm, I called Ostia Antica myself. The person on the line could speak a little English, but he said the site was open May 1, 2018, as well. Here is their number: 0039/06 56358099. Thank you all again for your help!

It's been a while, but I think I used Rick's audio tour when I visited.

If there's a map with the audio guide, print it out! The first time I used Rick's audio guides, I didn't know there were maps and I had some trouble following the oral directions.
