Ostia Antica Free Sunday

In February we're going to Rome on the first Sunday of the month when national sights are free. RS says don't go to free sights because they are too busy but given Ostia is so large and not in the centre i wondered if would be Ok. Has anyone been on the free Sunday?

I think you'd be fine. Ostia Antica does not get that crowded, especially in the winter. So definitely go on the free Sunday -- it is well worth a visit!
