Laura recommended this restaurant in another, now closed thread. Looking for a restaurant to enjoy traditional Ossobuco di Vitello e Risotto alla Milanese while in Milan. I will likely be staying at Hotel Berna and they are close to each other. Can you recommend this restaurant for this dish and for a solo traveler? TIA for your replies. Other recommendations also welcome.
I happened to have pasta at the Osteria Italiana but I see that they have the Milanese special on their menu and would certainly give it a try there. (More famous restaurants can get pretty expensive.) What I felt about this restaurant was that it was surprisingly good (equal to the standard I expected in Italy) given the convenient location (near the train station and Hotel Berna) and the modern appearance of the restaurant. I was also a single diner; no problem.
Did I also mention Restaurant/Rissoteria L'Oste? It has a big focus on risotto, always with 7 or 8 options on the menu. Will require a bus and probably a reservation by phone or email. I dined here with my parents and we were glad we made the effort. Their dining room has a more traditional atmosphere.
THANKS Laura!!
