We will be in Orvieto for 1 night in May and want to stay in the town so we can see as much as possible on the last night of our trip.
RS guidebook recommends La Magnolia B&B...has anyone stayed there recently or know of any place else?
Thanks!
Hi Texas,
lol, I had to look twice at your user name. There is another "Texas Girl" aka Catherine and her dog Jake who lived in Orvieto for about a year and one-half.

I've stayed twice at B&B Valentina and enjoyed both stays. You can also book directly, saving your host the commission.
My sister and I stayed in B&B Valentina in June, 2016, and it was lovely and in a great location. I see from the photos on the website that it has been remodeled/updated since 2016. It is perhaps a 6-7 minute walk from where the bus from the top of the funicular lets you off in the Duomo piazza. The owner gave us clear walking directions.
We stayed at La Magnolia but it was five years ago. We enjoyed our four nights there. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. It's centrally located and easy to walk to sights and restaurants. Not sure if this is helpful information due to length of time since we were there. Hopefully, things are the same.
Sant' Angelo 42
We stayed at this wonderful, intimate, comfortable, convenient, and quiet B&B for five nights. I can't recommend enough. the breakfast is lovely and fresh, the propriietor so helpful.
Via Sant'Angelo 42, 05018, Orvieto, Italy
Thank you guys so much for all your great advice and information!
I have booked a double room at La Valentina B&B! Not sure what floor it's on or if it has a balcony or if there is breakfast but based on ya'll's input and other comments...I'm excited to stay there and visit Orvieto! Thanks!
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Virgilio very conveniently located right next to the Duomo. The rate included a delicious breakfast.
Enjoy your trip!
We made a reservation 6 months prior to our trip at B&B Michelangeli per the recommendation from Rick Steves book and received an email 6 weeks before we leave that they made a mistake and do not have a reservation for us. Very disappointed, especially after confirming with her twice since. I would not recommend. I am going to try a few places that have been suggested on this forum. Thank you for the suggestions.
B&B Ripa Medici is wonderful. Vicolo Ripa Medici, 14, 05018 Orvieto TR, Italy +39 0763 341343
Just be sure to stay in the upper town, not down below to save money.
Check out Hotel Duomo right next to the piazza and in the shadow of the Doumo. Stayed there about 12 years on first night in Italy and will be staying there next month on probably my last night in Italy. Good breakfast and parking included in the rate
We reserved a room in Oct at Hotel Virgilio based on great reviews. Located directly in front of Duomo. Good breakfast comments.
