Orvieto- well and luggage storage

I will be traveling to Orvieto as part of a group of 14 people. We would like to stop in Orvieto on our way between Rome and Florence. I read that there is luggage storage at the Orvieto train station. Does anyone know if it is large enough for 14 people? We also plan to visit St. Patrick's Well. How long should we schedule to visit that? Is one hour sufficient for the well? Grazie!

but with 14 people you will always move at the speed of the slowest person (that person may change from time to time but there will always be a slowest (toilets, bad foot, child, bad hip, tired, forgot, slow eater, etc.) person and that's your speed) so be sure to add lots of padding time....

How will you get up the hill from the station? The bus is unlikely to have room for 14 plus other passengers. The funicular is also likely be rammed with one party of 14.

Is this adults? Seniors? Kids? A multi-generational family reunion? Does everybody speak the same language?

Kara,
I was intrigued by your question so decided to send an email to [email protected] asking your question about luggage storage for 14 people. Here’s the response I received:

Hi Priscilla,
you know when you will be in Orvieto?
The luggage storage, available at bon-italy info point in the parking lot under Orvieto train station, it is closed until march 21st.
We have another room for luggage storage at bon-italy cafeteria inside the train station, but for 14 people baggages I need a reservation, just to be ready to store your luggage.
Let me know.

Best wishes, Valerio

Kara,
If you have time, I’d recommend spending at least an overnight in beautiful Orvieto.
If you do, consider taking the underground tour which starts at the TI.
The tourist information office is on Piazza Duomo right across from the magnificent cathedral.

Wishing you a wonderful trip!

Orvieto was beautiful. We were only there forf 2 hours and wished we had stayed overnight. The basilica is stunning. There is luggage storage at the coffee shop in the train station by the tracks

Thank you all so much for your input! I have been to Orvieto a couple times before, but either with a car so that I could leave luggage in the trunk or on a day trip from Rome so I could leave it in the hotel and somehow I have never made it to St. Patrick's well on my previous trips. Thank you!
