Orvieto train station

Can anyone tell me if the Hertz office at the Orvieto train station is right at the station, or is it offsite. When I enter the address in google maps it seems to me to be some distance away. Thanks for your help!

I would trust goggle map. Go to the street view to see the office.

Great advice. Google Maps Streetview has become an invaluable part of vacation planning these days. You can also use it to check out the area around almost any hotel you're considering, with the notable exception of Venice.

Ruth,
The distance is about 2 or 3 hundred yards, maybe a three minute walk.

FWIW, I have found Google Street View to be, at times, woefully inaccurate in Italy. On the one hand, it is remarkable that they are able to make any sense at all of Italian streets and the rather arbitrary way that locales are numbered here. On the other hand, it has often been the case that the address that I really want is not the one that shows up on the Google Map/Street View, but is rather a bit farther down the street one way or another. Use Google products with caution when it comes to mapping out anything in Europe.

Come out of the station's front doors and walk to the left. It's not immediately visible but when you cross the street, you'll see the Hertz office on your right across another street opposite from the gas station. It was a very short walk. Google maps seemed to show it across the main highway but we got directions from a cabbie who was waiting at the station. (I thought we'd need a cab but he said just to walk it was so close)

Just returned our rental car at the Hertz office in Orvieto on a Saturday. They had limited hours they were open because of the weekend. It is located across from the train station. We had hit a pole while parking in a hilltop town and they were very fair and helpful. By the way, our VISA car insurance covered the whole thing.
