After a week in Orvieto, I have 2 days to get to Florence, leaving early the next day for home. Any suggestions of
how to travel, where to stay on the way to Florence, would prefer agriturismos or B&Bs. Also where to stay in Florence near the airport, don't need 4 stars for one short night.
You have 7 days in Orvieto and only 2 days or 1 day in Florence? How did that happen and on whose advice? Reduce your days in Orvieto, get to Florence by train ASAP to enjoy at least some time there seeing where the Renaissance and secular humanism started six hundred years ago. You don't need to stay at Florence airport, just stay in town and let Florence hotel arrange for taxi to get you to the airport at the time to you tell them.
Kent, will be attending a class for the week in Orvieto. Have been to Florence before but have not stayed there. Would like recommendations on places to stay/visit on the way to Florence and of course in Florence itself. Thanks to all who respond.
Assisi and Siena are both between Orvieto and Florence. Each is certainly worth a day.
