Orvieto to Civita de Bagnoregio

Will be spending 1 night in Orvieto and then hoping to make a trip to Civita the next morning before continuing on to Florence after lunch. I know there are buses that run between Orvieto and Civita, but making the trip that way seems to require much more time. Does anyone have recommendations for another efficient way to get to Civita? I emailed Guiliotaxi as listed in RS. I didn't mention the guidebook so don't know if that would make a difference, but I was quoted 90 euros for the drive there, 2 hours in Civita, and the drive back. Just wondering if someone knew of other options.

Thanks!

I would rent a car. After two trips to Orvieto hoping to make it work with a bus, we gave up and rented a car to go to Cività. You can rent it in Orvieto and return it in Firenze.

I think that 90 euro charge is quite reasonable.

Cynthia, I did exactly the same thing you outline in Oct 2013 at a cost of 80 euros, arranged by my small Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto. The driver was someone connected to the hotel, not a regular car service. By the way, I did this on a Sunday afternoon when there was no bus service available. I expected a very quiet time, but found Civita packed with visitors, mostly Italians. So much so that the driver could not find any parking space in the lot near the pedestrian bridge, so he had to drop me off and then meet me 2 hours later.
