As GAC mentioned, there are several places that are not too far away which you could visit. But, I would highly recommend going over to Bagnoregio (to get to Civita di Bagnoregio), which is a charming little hilltown that is handily accessible by local bus from Orvieto. I would also recommend Cortona which is a short straight shot north by train. Enjoy your travels!
