The market in Orvieto is wonderful - be sure to take your camera - the fruits and veggies are just beautiful. I was on RS Village Italy trip and we were each given suggestions to buy things for our group picnic lunch.
Then the bus took us outside of town with a beautiful view of Orvieto - had a great picnic with excellent fresh foods and wines from the market --- great memory of the plaza market in Orvieto.

My husband and I will be in Orvieto for few days at the end of October. We always rent an apartment and attempt to visit the local markets for cooking ingredients. The Orvieto market sounds wonderful. Anyone have any idea of what type of produce and meats/fish we might find late in the season.

Its a great market. Sometimes they have roasted chickens and they were amazing. But I also truly love their ricotta. You must try it with fresh honey on top. Its not at all like the ricotta in the states. I was also able to find some fun sweaters. And now I have a great souvenir that no one else has back home. The market starts early and then ends around lunch time.
