Is there a luggage storage facility in Orvieto train station or nearby? We will be droping a rental car in Orvieto before going to Rome and want to spend some time in Orvieto. Any info on the cost hours of operation, and etc.?

No storage at the station. Rick's Italy book mentions a hotel not too far from the station that will store your luggage for a nominal fee.

When there is no luggage storage I, too, look for the nearest hotel. Usually the concierge will keep my bags in a locked closet for me.

I recently researched this same issue. In my case, I will be taking a train from Rome to Orvieto in the morning, sightseeing all day & then picking up my rental car in the late afternoon. I am going to ask the car rental agency if they will store my luggage all day and I would suggest that you ask the same thing. Perhaps they'll allow you to leave your luggage with them after dropping off your car! If not, here is a link to some alternative options. Hope this helps.
