Hi all,
I'll be solo traveling for 5 days into the Dolomites, with Ortisei as my home base. This will be my first time in the area (coming from the US). As a landscape photographer, I was really hoping to be able to photograph Alpe di Siusi at sunrise, provided cooperative weather, when there is that nice layer of low fog.
I do plan on purchasing the cable car pass in Ortisei to easily access Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, etc. But these gondolas don't start running until 8:00 or 8:30am, which is when I would already like to be set up at my photography location.
Is there any other way for me to get to Alpe di Siusi from Ortisei in time for sunrise? I unfortunately won't have a car. Are there any taxi or carpool services that would be going at that early of an hour? I've already booked my stay in Ortisei, so purchasing additional accommodations in Alpe di Siusi would unfortunately not work at this point (poor planning on my part I suppose, though I couldn't find much at an affordable price in that area when I had looked).
I do plan on staying in a refugio near Seceda one night (leaving the bulk of my luggage at the hotel in Ortisei) so that I can capture Seceda at sunset/sunrise. Are there any options like this for a cheap overnight near Alpe di Siusi?
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome, I appreciate the help.
