We’ll be spending our last night in Ortisei and would like to enjoy most of the following day in town (until about 5 pm). We’re trying to avoid leaving our suitcases in the car, and we’re not certain our accommodation will be able to store luggage after checkout.
Has anyone found reliable luggage storage options in Ortisei, or is it common to ask hotels or hosts to hold bags for the day? I’d appreciate hearing how others have handled this. We planning to use guest apartment rather than a hotel, so not sure that they will store our stuff.
Check with the host ahead of time. Otherwise check with EELWAY or INSAM EXPRESS.
If your lodging doesn’t cover an option, contact the Tourist Information office. https://www.val-gardena.net/en/questions-and-answers.asp?id=1549
This is going to come out more brusque than I mean it to, but....
have you asked the question to your landlord /hotel before coming to the forum? If you
haven't picked a place yet, have you included this on any questions you've addressed to
potential owners or management companies?if you intend to go to a specific vrbo/airbnb, even if they let you, I would not necessarily
trust keeping my bags in an apartment when an outsourced cleaning person/crew shows
up to clean the place. On top of that, if you surrender the keys, how can you be sure you
can get back in at 5pm when the new occupants may already be there?if you rent from a management company that is local to Ortisei, they may let you leave
stuff at their office, but that is a case-by-case situation.
In the winter, Ortisei is a ski destination, and I suspect that there are skiers who want to ski
for part or all of the day and then come back and change before heading home. So my
guess would be that hotels are not unaccustomed to this situation.
Finally, if you Google "Left Luggage Ortisei", you'll find in about 1 minute that there are lockers
at the Seceda cable car.
