Ortesei hotels

I found two hotels in Ortesei that are very reasonable. Hotel Maria is dead center in town. And Hotel Dolomiti Madonna. Has anyone stayed at either or can you recommend one close to town. We will not have a car. Thank you so much.

If one of the hotels has half board then that would be the tipping factor for me. When we stayed in Ortisei our primary goal was going on hikes, going down to Bolzano, and enjoying the ambience of being up in the mountains. Not a foodie adventure. There are a few pricy and undoubtedly good restaurants in Ortisei but the ones we ate at were nothing special. If we go back I would pick a hotel that has dinner included. Of course check online reviews and see what people say about the food.

I stayed at Hotel Dolomiti Madonna in June 2025 for four nights. Loved the location as I was on foot also. You don't say when you're traveling. There was a heat wave in Italy when I was there and the hotel was unprepared for it. They had no AC or even fans. (This heat was a very unusual event for the area but, looking to the future, they may need to reconsider!) It was hot in my room when I arrived and never cooled off. Having the door open at night was impossible because of noise. That said, the breakfast was good and there was an elevator. The biggest surprise to me was that the vast majority of hotel guests were Japanese. I guess the Dolomites secret is out!
