Planning a trip for next September and need to decide the easiest travel order. We are flying into Rome and out of Venice (late day flight). Going to Rome first so we are there on a Sunday with a chance to see the Pope. After Rome would it be easier to go Florence, Cinque Terre and Venice or Cinque Terre, Florence and Venice? Looking at the trains it looks like the 2nd option would be easier travel. Looking for opinions and thoughts. Thanks.

Best would be Rome-Cinque Terre-Florence-Venice.
Trying to do Cinque Terre-Venice would consume most of a valuable sightseeing day.

gerri - Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Once I started to look at train schedules option 2 looked like the better choice.
