We spent a weekend in Orvieto prior to our Rick Steves South of Italy tour this past May. Our favorite dinner was at Il Cocco. We also ate at Trattoria dell ‘Orso which was also good. Both were recommended by our host at http://www.casaselita.com/en/ which I would highly recommend.
I had a wonderful dinner at Trattoria da Carlo (make reservations). Pizza Restaurant Charlie had great pies if you’re in the mood.

I had an exceptional dinner one night at L'Antica Rupe in Orvieto, and would certainly recommend it. Of course, it was on the "high" end of the price scale and in my opinion worth the cost.
