Anyone know a good way to book seeing an Opera in Italy? I would love to see an Opera in Italy. I will be traveling to Venice, Florence, and Rome in October. Any information or ideas would be appreciated.

Why don't you try and contact her and see what insights she may have.
It depends on what you're picturing. All those cities have lots of opportunities to see opera, from the biggest stages (La Fenice in Venice, for example) down to shoe-string productions in a church. We saw a bare-bones production of La Boheme at San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice and the soprano was absolutely amazing. Be forewarned that unlike most American opera houses, you won't be getting supertitles in English, so you may not understand the intricacies of the plots.
If you are not able to see an opera at La Fenice in Venice you can, most likely, get tics to the shoestring opera as another poster put it. Check with your hotel on one of the productions done in an old palazzo. We saw Barber of Seville in the old palace with candlelight and loved it--and we do not understand much Italian. A few years ago we got tics to La Traviata in a church on Via Nazionale and enjoyed it also.
