When in Rome in May 2006 we were able to attend La Traviata in a church on Via Nazionale. I found tickets (an absolute must to order ahead) on a website and have lost the address. Has anyone had experience with attending these events in the churches in Rome and would happen to have information? The church was packed with locals and a few tourists and it was very reasonable in cost--around 25E per ticket. I am wondering if these operas are mainly held in the spring as I did not find anything for mid November at the opera house in Rome.
We attended a performance at the same church this past March. It was opera arias and it was great. We found out about it from flyers that were in our hotel and from flyers that were passed out on Via Nationale in front of the church. They were alternating the performances between 2 churches during the monthe of February through April. I don't think that they have anything to do with the opera house.
