Opera Arena in Verona

I've read all the 5 year old posts so can anyone give me their recent advice on whether the cheapest seats will work? We have no problem getting there early but from the posts, there was conflicting advice about how crowded you feel in the more expensive seats.

Thanks!

Unless you are in the "Poltronissime", especially the poltronissime gold, the poltrone and especially the poltroncine to me aren't worth the money. Next time I go I'm buying the "posti non numerati" at 24 euro and maybe buy a binocular.

I was there 2012 and spent a long time (Aida) in one of the padded seats on the Arena floor (pink section from memory on booking plan). I found it to be comfortable enough and the view superb - I would not have wanted to be up in the tiered stone section.

Jo - I'm there fairly regularly. GO CHEAP! The view is amazing, the sound is excellent, the experience will stay with you for a very long time. However, go the the grocery store at the other end of Piazza Bra and buy a good cushion. The ones they rent at the Arena are too thin (even 2 didn't make me more comfortable). Also, check the seating map - you want to be on the West side of the Arena, it gets the shade earlier and therefore you're out of some of the heat. Dress for the weather, not the opera. I like to sit with the walkway immediately to my back - no one uses it during the performance and nobody's knees will jab you. You are in for a great time!

The cheap seats are fine! I prefer them because they are the ones where you sit on the ancient stones of the colosseum. Unless you are way off to the side you'll have a fine view - the scale of opera performed there is very grand and unless you have a need to see the faces of the performers, you should be happy.
I encourage you to go!

Thanks to everyone you replied! Now, where should we stay for the 2 nights we're in Verona?
