Cantine Aperte are a national system of wine related events, often tastings or tours or dinners along with various types of entertainment. They are held mostly in spring and fall. At the winery we visited in Lunigiana, you bought a pass which served as a ticket to sample 5 of the 12 types of wine produced -tasting while reviewing dozens of diverse food vendors offering products and often samples. There were exhibits and a couple of bands and a good crowd - almost all Italian. The autumn harvest schedule by area and winery is here:
