Oops, advice for our 3 nights in Rome

HI all,
We will be in Rome in a couple months, getting there on a Saturday and leaving Tuesday at Noon.

I booked a Rome segway tour on Sunday that is from 9:30-12:30 that focuses on..

"See the sights of Ancient Rome, like the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus
Stop for photos in front of the Colosseum and hear tales of its gruesome gladiator battles
Visit the marble ‘face’ at the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, and find out why it’s called the Mouth of Truth
Admire sights of the city from Capitoline Hill"

I then reserved Borghese from 3 PM until 5 PM that same day..

Sadly, I only realized too late that the segway tour does not include admission into the actual monuments,
We would have loved to go INSIDE the collesium...

is it doable between these two events???
shortcuts? tips?

should we just go out of the way another time slot during our stay?
(Monday we have an early morning Vatican tour, and on Saturday--our arrival day, we were planning to take it easy)

advice please!
Thank you.

You can visit the coloseum after your segway tour. If i am not wrong, one hour before its closing hours, there will be discounts on the tickets and the queues move relatively faster. Your segway tour ends at 1230 so there are time to check out the colosseum, the forum and other places.

There are no discounts on tickets to the colosseum, regardless of the time of day.

You should have enough time after your segway tour to visit the colosseum but it really depends on where the tour ends. If it's close to the colosseum you should have no problems. You should buy entry tickets online in order to skip the lines.

Hmmm, tough one.

You need to be at the Borghese no less than 30 minutes before your 3:00 time slot to check all of the items they don't allow in the museum. Assuming that your Segway tour does not end at or near the Colosseumcase) you would have get back there, get through the security line, do your looking around, then up to the Borghese - which is at the opposite end of the central part of the city - by 2:30.

While not impossible to do all this in 2 hours (12:30 - 2:30) it could be rushed, IMHO. If you try to do it, pre-purchase your tickets on the Coopculture website (http://www.coopculture.it/en/), keep your eye on the time, and grab a cab to the Borghese from a taxi stand near the Colosseum. I'm not sure where the nearest one is located but hopefully someone else can help out there.

Oops, sorry, Donna, I didn't meant to be redundant. Was called away in the middle of banging out my reply so didn't see that you'd already provided the website. :O)

The taxi stand near the Colosseum, if you are facing north from Colosseum, is on your right, across the street from the Colosseum in front of a row of cafes/restaurants/shops.

Wow... I just know saw that we start and end the tour at piazza Venezia. Its def. Not close to the colesium! I should have looked into the details before asking you all. We will just have to do it another day..

Is Saturday or Monday a better day to see the colesium?

(Thank you greatly for your advice !)

In between Sunday tours I would suggest the sights along the way between Colosseum (note spelling!!) and the Borghese ... Vittorio Emanuele II, Trevi Fountain (under repair), Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo

After your Vatican Monday tour I would check out Castel St Angelo, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, before a late afternoon visit to the Colosseum.

The Colosseum is not that far from Piazza Venezia, it's a walk down the Via dei Fori Imperiali.
