Only one train from Rome to Florence, June 26th?

If I'm doing things correctly, I can only find one train from Rome to Florence on June 26th. I thought there were usually many during the day. Is this because I'm trying to book on-line and only a limited number are available for on-line booking? Help

They may not have all train schedules available yet, I know there is a limit to how far in advance you can book or even see the schedule for. It may be two months in which case you could order in less than 2 weeks. Try looking at the same day of the week, a week or two before to get an idea of the scheduled trains.

Yvonne, Where are you obtaining your train information? As the previous reply mentioned, the schedules may not be posted that far in advance. Using a Sunday in May, I found numerous trips from Rome to Florence (at times during the day, there seemed to be departures about every 15-minutes). Happy travels!

New European train timetables come out twice a year (June and December). New timetables will go into effect on 12 June. While many national rail companies have already uploaded theirs, Trenitalia is notorious for being the last to do so. Theirs usually don't appear until early in May. As others have said, enter a date within the next few weeks and you'll get complete timetables.

One thing to watch out for when you get to Termini: The board listings for trains may not mention Firenze at all, because the train goes on to Milan or some place else. We have friends who missed their train because of this and had to pay for more tickets. We were luckier because it occurred to us that the listing might be Milano, but only after considerable frenzy and puzzlement.

Katherine raises a good point. However, your should know the train number which is on your ticket -- IC 2410. That will be posted on the board and is your best guide. Second, should you miss a train and it is not a deep discount ticket - no refund, etc. -- you have 90 minutes to go to a ticket office and exchange for a new seat reservation. Regardless of the ticket if you miss a connection because the train was late, go to the ticket office for a new seat reservation for the next train.

Thank you all for your replies and instructions on how to read the train boads. This hint is invaluable.

Perhaps the cause was using RailEurope or similar?
