I just went through this a few days ago. It was honestly pretty complicated, but I managed to get through it. I first went to the official website: https://portale.museiitaliani.it/b2c/#en/buyTicketless

Then you have to set up your own account with museiitaliani.it . And after I got past that, selected the date and time, I was repeatedly unable to pay by credit card. In the end, I had to use PayPal as an alternate method of payment. That worked, and I finally got online tickets to print at home.

Michael, thanks for your reply. It seems there is an additional issue, at least for folks in countries that don't use the Euro. They only accept Euro-based credit cards on line. My friend and I have decided to just show up in the morning and wait on line. Best, Ed

It was very complicated and the line to get into the pantheon once you had your ticket was around the block.

Got in line at 9:00 am three weeks ago and used my US credit card. In the Pantheon in under 15 minutes. The line when we left was not bad but by the afternoon the whole plaza was full of lines

In looking at guidance from members of this forum on ticket purchase in the Fall of 2023, one contributor had success in buying tickets for the Pantheon online by using the Google Chrome Browser, choosing "Other payment method," and then choosing Nexi. Well I was just at that website using Chrome browser, etc. and found that the website does not list Nexi as an "Other payment method" option. I tried searching for the term "Nexi" and there were no results. For those of us who do not have Pay Pay accounts, any other suggestions? I did try to use Apple Pay and nothing happened. No error message, just nothing happened. All guidance appreciated. I verified that the website (still) does not accept foreign credit cards, as reported last year when the Pantheon first began charging for entry.

I don't think you have to have a PayPal account to pay that way (though I could be mistaken, because I have a PayPal account). I think you can use PayPal as a "guest" or something like that. You'll have a choice of allowing PayPal to debit your bank account or using the same credit card you were unable to use directly. (Your credit card should work fine through PayPal.) You'll also have a choice of paying in US $ (or whatever is your native currency) or euros. You'll want to use euros to avoid PayPal's bad conversion rate.

I have been trying to get tickets and it seems they only update dates available 30 days out or less.

I was in Rome earlier this month (March 2024) and visited the Pantheon on a weekday without buying a ticket in advance and I walked straight in to the ticket desk area inside the Pantheon and there were two people in front of me but there was more than one pay desk available and I actually got my tickets before those in front - all in all took about five minutes to complete the tranaction and to get in. I didn't go really really or late in the day - about late morning. I did avoid the weekend as I have walked past it a few times both this year and in previous years - weekends always looked crowded. I would not buy a ticket in advance for myself as although would get in with an advance ticket, I would like to select a time when it didn't look took crowded but I recognise that not everybody has the time to allow for this.
