Hi - desperately need some help here. I have checked http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/default.aspx in order to make reservations for Uffizi & Accademia in late October 2008 during morning hours - 8:30 to 10:30. Those times have been blocked for reservations, although the Galleries are open at 8:30. Does anyone know if these are tour times only or should I just bite the bullet and call? Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
May not be available for reservation yet is my guess. Check back within 60 days maybe and they'll be available.
Thanks, David ----I did think of that possibility, also. However, when I checked September & all of October, the site does show times from 12:00 on those dates - nothing for the AM hours. Anyone else had experience with this?
Rosemarie, the web site is very limited in terms of the times available. Are you staying at a hotel in Florence? They all will make reservations for you, usually at the time you request if you send them an email. The whole world seems to think the online system is the best, but the local hotels have the best availability. Cheers
I would call the direct number in Italy for the museums - they can book both Uffuzi and Accademia. When I booked a few weeks ago for late August, they were wide open as compared to the website you listed. There are postings here listing the number (a correction from the printed Rick Steves 2008 book).
Have your hotel make the reservations for you. Just give them your times, maybe with alternates and they should be able to take care of it for you. We did this about a month before our arrival in June and it worked out perfectly.
Hi Rosemarie
We are going to Florence in two weeks and had our hotel book the tickets. Cheaper than the on line service and we did get the times we wanted.

There are two best options to book Ufizzi and Accademia Gallery:
If you already booked accommodation ask them to do it for you
Call directly by phone. Here is explanation how to do it.
Hope it helps.
Thanks, Everyone - for your wonderful help. It is so helpful and appreciated. We do have our accommodations already booked, so I will email them first to see if they provide a reservation service. If not, I will call direct using the directions provided by Mario on TuscanWeb. com.
We just returned from Italy, and my hotel was able to reserve both museums for me (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) with only a week's advance notice! I wouldn't advise waiting that long, but that tells you it can be done, even during the busy season.
Would hostels reserve these museums for you? I doubt that they would...If so, how can I reserve them? Is there a site where there are no extra fees. How much is it to reserve?
Apparently, there's another way to get tickets.
