Staying at Villa Brunello (Tuscany) for one week. What are the have tos? Need to? and do if you can of the area? Did anyone rent scooters and was it a good way to go? I am at a total loss regarding where to begin. Guidance please oh seasoned travellors!
Renting a vespa or scooter in Italy got my attention. People writing in to the helpline in the past have not recommended the rental of scooters in Italy because of chaotic driving conditions. If you've driven there before, you'll know why. And the distances in Tuscany are greater than you might think, this is open country--most people do rental cars in Tuscany and Umbria (but not scooters), as reliance on trains and buses in this area takes extra time and flexibility of schedule.
Only speaking from the "Vespa" experiences we've had in Greece but if it's at all similar - rent a car or take the bus/train! Your head will thank you.
Heather,
Send me an e-mail, put Tuscany in the tittle, and I will send you a weeks worth of day trips in southern Tuscany. The file is too long to post. [email protected]
