We are in Ortisei region for one week with the kids and forecast is one week or raining across the whole region. Its very bad news for us, we were looking at that week for a great time to do some small trekking and enjoy nice mountains view. We already been to Bolzano today, cant do that for a week !
What can de do ?

Buy rain gear and turn it in an adventure? If you have a car, Innsbruck is about 1 hr. 40 minutes away.
Do you have a car? You could go up to Merano to do the wallweg walks. https://www.meranerland.org/en/leisure-activities/mountains-and-hiking/waalweg-paths The city center is a beautiful spa town with arcaded (covered) shopping. We loved the food culture—Italian and Austrian. There are also bicycle rides along the Passer River and several castles nearby.
Is the forecast a local one? I doubt if it will rain all the time. Mountains make their own weather.
You will find most of that will be PM thundershowers. Get out early if it is nice and be prepared for a storm to blow up in mid-to-late afternoon. If it is raining in the morning, afternoon is often nice. We a,so have found hiking in the fog can be fun. If you wake up and find fog but not rain, head up to the Alpe di Siusi at Mont Sëuc and walk to Icaro and back or even all the way to Comparsch. We did it last year and it was interesting as the fog came and went with occasional clearing as we were up high.
