We will be in Tuscany from 13 Dec to 20 Dec, arriving by train from Germany, any ideas on what we should do, we will have a rental. We were recommended to have a car, the villa location is 45 mins from the Airport Car Rental location. Would like to see Florence and Venice, not interested in going to Rome.... your thoughts are welcome.

If you are 45 min from the Pisa airport, you are not that close to Pisa. In 45 min. from Pisa you can be in Florence or La Spezia. Where is your villa exactly?
Florence is in Tuscany, so no issue there. Also many other towns are in Tuscany (see www.borghiditoscana.net/eng/).
Venice is not that close. From Florence it would be 2 hrs with the high speed train, but by car it's about 3.5 hour trip each way.

You are in the Val d'Era (Era Valley). Not too far from Pisa airport then. Just need to take a few curvy roads to get there.
Most of Tuscany will be within 2 hour drive from Terricciola. Volterra is just 30 min away, San Gimignano 45 min, Siena 1.5 hours, Florence 1 hr, Chianti 1.5 hours, Cinque Terre (not Tuscany, but close) 2 hrs, just to name a few popular destinations.
Venice is too far for a day trip from there.
