One Sunday night in Rome

Hello fellow travelers.

I will have one night in Rome before I return to the States after a lovely Italian vacation. It's a Sunday night, and I'm finding many tours and restaurants are closed. I am not expecting to see a lot of Rome, of course, but does anyone have an interesting evening tour or experience that might be available on a Sunday? The actual date is May 3rd.

Thank you!

Walk around! Rome at night is amazingly beautiful and mysterious. You can go in either direction but make sure you're at the Forum after dark. I do this every year: Coliseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Castel Sant' Angelo, St. Peter's and back to Piazza Navona for a gelato sitting by the Bernini 4 Rivers fountain. Frequently I'll start with drinks and dinner in Trastevere. Honestly, I can't imagine anything more inspiring and relaxing (ok, my feet will be tired). Guarantee a good night's sleep.

The Welcome to Rome: Twilight City Stroll & Gelato-Tasting Walks of Italy tour (17:00 start at Piazza Navona) seems it could fit the bill if you prefer the ability to ask questions/get information from a local expert. I have done a number of WOI tours though not this particular one and have always appreciated the quality and expertise of their guides and their offerings.

Thanks everyone. A nice stroll sounds perfect (with gelato of course!).
