One Seasoned Italy Traveller Recommends Viator "Skip The Line" Tours In Rome Yet . .

. . . another recommended the Omnia pass. We're only fixed on seeing the Vatican area and the Colosseum / Palatine area during our three days in Rome. In bringing my four family members . . .cost is a thought for me. Viator seems more affordable.

Thoughts?

Walks of Italy is great for both the Vatican and Colosseum. The Pristine Sistine tour of the Vatican was fantastic and worth the money

I did a one Viator tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's. Well worth the money. Skipping the line there is priceless. I have used Viator many times all over Europe and never had any problems and they offer reasonable tours. Keep in mind Viator is a tour broker, they don't actual give the tours, but connect you with tours all over the world. Enjoy Rome. Walks of Italy is also a great alternative as well.

Compare the prices and exactly what you get for both Viator and Walks of Italy.

When we took friends to Rome for the first time, we used Walks of Italy and were GREATLY impressed. With the congestion and chaos at BOTH locations, the tour was the way to go even though we normally figure out skip the line tickets on our own.

Like the comment above, remember that viator is JUST a broker. Walks of Italy is an actual tour company.

If you can make the Omnia pass worth its cost please come back here and tell us how you did it. You will be the first.

In my opinion it is extremely overpriced and leaves a great deal that you still have to arrange and pay for.

Look at the official site.

For just the Museum and Sistine Chapel.

For the Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica

You will not be allowed back in the Museum with the latter.

Use this for the Colosseum,Roman Forum & Palatine hill.

There are guided tours for the upper and lower levels.

Definitely do NOT buy the Omnia pass. I've really never seen that one recommended in this forum, and it would be an considerable waste of money if all you want to see are the Vatican Museums, St. Peter's and the Colosseum/Palatine/Forum. Understand that the pass doesn't cover escorted tours.

ALL pre-ordered tickets or tours from ANY source skip ticket lines. NONE of them skip security-check queues at the Vatican Museums or Colosseum.

I'll go along with the others who've recommended spending the $$ for the "Walks of Italy" tours. While they are not inexpensive, you're going to get a quality, small-group experience with a superior guide. If the price is too high, I'd consider the combo museum/basilica tour offered by the Vatican itself, although the group will be larger.

I would spend the $$ for a comprehensive tour of the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine as that group can be harder to understand without advance reading or a knowledgeable guide. Walks of Italy, The Roman. Guy, Context and some other tour providers have been favorably reviewed in past forum posts. I'd look into one of these versus what's offered on the coopculture website as I don't believe they provide a guided tour of all three attractions.

Editing to add: Sorry for the redundancy, Gerri! Was posting at the same time you were!

With some time on the web you can figure out what tours Viator is re-selling and book directly with the tour company. It may save you some money if not it saves the tour company money because they have to pay Viator for the listing.
