General question, but posted here since I’m traveling to Italy.
Traveling with a friend and I am making all arrangements. Has anyone had problems showing e-tickets (museums, trains, etc.) for more than one person? I’m fine with being the keeper of the tickets, but just want to know if anyone has hit roadblocks with this. Some tickets are together with one code number and QR code, and others are separate codes.
Hi Susan, I do the planning for my husband & I traveling. For any planning transaction - reservations, tickets, etc. I always take a screenshot of each of them for proof of purchase records and store all of those in a shared iCloud folder. We usually just use the screenshot for separate entry together. You could do the same and label the separate ones with your name or your friend’s. I assume if you have a shared QR code for a ticket, you will be entering together.
Regarding trains, conductors know how many passengers are associated with any QR/PNR code and they'll immediately understand with whom you are travelling.
On high speed trains the PNR code, together with your seat&car numbers, is the actual ticket. Ask your travel companions to note the PNR code down, in case your phone battery dies or you are sitting far apart.
Great question.
My husband and I visited Italy in November 2021. We not only had tickets for museums and trains to manage, but also all the EU/Covid Vaccine/EUPLF related documents.
I found it so much easier to have one person in possession of all travel documents. We did not run into any problems.
I think it is appreciated that one person is ready with all documents whether it is for one person or a group.
I would suggest that your traveling companion have the documents saved on a phone (photo or file), just in case.
Happy Travels.
You can always forward the group QR code’s to other people in the group. For separate tickets, send each person their own. In the past we’ve taken screenshots of the codes and airdropped them to the appropriate people.
When I make bookings for friends that I am with, I always email them the details: whether it be for accommodation or transport or museum bookings.
Better to have two versions just in case.
They can screenshot it, store it on their phone, or print it on paper.
