We will be spending one night in Venice in October. Looking for a good location and a good experience for the one night.
Considering Palazzo Veneziano - has anyone stayed? This will be the last night of our trip and then flying home from the Venice airport. Would love feedback on the hotel and any tips to make the most of one afternoon and night in Venice.
I would mainly walk around Venice, with a decent chunk of the time around St. Marks Square and the Piazzetta San Marco and then when you get to the end of the Piazzeta turn left and walk along the canal. From your hotel if you walk to Santa Maria della Salute you get some nice views from there as well. The only attractions I would do is either going up the Campanile or going up the bell tower in San Giorgio Maggiore. Both towers have beautiful views. The only other "attraction" I would do is riding up and down the grand canal in the vaporetto but try to do it when it's fairly empty and you can sit in the back and be able to see both sides of the canal. If you're on one side being crushed like cattle and can't see anything then it's not much fun.
