One night in Venice

I love Venice, but I wouldn't splurge on a restaurant there. Unless you like pasta in black octopus ink. Instead, I would devote an evening to visiting cichetti bars and enjoying small plates in various parts of the town as the night falls.

What Doug says, second paragraph. We usually don't have time for a full blown dinner. The evening is when the magic happens and we are strolling, walking, riding on vaporetti up and down the Canale Grande looking at the lights, more strolling, more walking; and loads of photos. It is a funny thing how after many many visits to Venice I take more photos now than I ever did. We know several cichetti bars and nibble the evening away as we stroll, washed down with the ocassional gelato.
