One Night in Venice

Have you asked the hotel for suggestions? The staff at Al Ponte Mocenigo are usually very helpful. Have you stayed there before? I ask because it is at least a 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge from the hotel. Part of its charm is the quiet neighborhood it is in-away from the tourist crowds.

Thanks ~ yes I emailed them. No have never stayed there before but my husband and I enjoy being a bit away where it is quiet :)

to find avilablity for that one specific night. Using a random mid-week date in September, I found 8 pages of places with rooms available for the one night. You could narrow it by sorting by location, price, etc. And check Venere.com or Tripadvisor for reviews if you like to cross-check.

Alex, hi again. I just got back from Venice and agree with the Pensione Guerrato recommendation. They are right next to the Rialto Market and it was a wonderful experience. I stayed in room 7 which had a view of the Grand Canal.

Alex, as you are finding out and maybe not directly, many Venice hotels want a minimum 2-3 night stay. They don't do one-nighters during the busy season.

One suggestion for one night is the annex belonging to the Hotel Messner. We've stayed there for one night. The actual Hotel Messner is a really nice 2 or 3 star hotel. The annex is out the back door and down another canal about 200 feet. It was a 1-star when we stayed there 2 years ago. Very clean, quiet and comfortable for the 1 night. It did include a continental breakfast in the main hotel.
