We're arriving by train in Rome and will have just a day
there before our next morning's early flight...We want a hotel in an interesting spot....but want to make a swift
trip to FCO in the morning. Thanks!

At least 45 minutes, I did it around 8-9 am, was moderately heavy traffic getting out of town, if you are going very early, might not be as long....

Carol, your 2 desires are mutually exclusive. FCO is very far from the center of Rome and all the interesting places.

Gotta second that.
Could you consider getting up early the next morning instead? And just one day? Could you come a day earlier? Just like you can't do Milan in three hours, you can't do Rome in one day.

Thank you, both. Yes, this is a re visit. And we know
we can't do Rome in a day...we are just winding up there after doing hill towns, mostly. How long should we plan on the cab ride taking to FCO on a Saturday morning...?
