Price is very dependent dependent on season. We liked Hotel Pendini, which is within your budget part of the year....

Thanks David.... I'm fairly savvy about internet searching and reading reviews... just thought if someone had a great suggestion I'd then do some research to see if it were a good fit. It's going to be a Sunday night.

Soggiorno Battistero, right on Piazza San Giovanni; the Duomo and Baptistery in your face. A knockout. Not super quiet, but worth it. We loved it.

We stayed at Hotel Dali which was within walking distance from the train station.

We paid 89 Euros last April. The room was one of two that had a (tiny) private bathroom.
They don't have many rooms so they book up early.
