I’m arriving in Florence on the 2/7/18 and would like to visit Cinque Terre for a one night stay. Any suggestions what area to stay in to make the most of a quick trip. Returning to Florence on the 3/7/18. I will be travelling by train.
The 5 towns are closely bunched and easily accessed by train, so it really does not matter much.
Choice may be driven by what is available in your price range for what is somewhat 'short notice' for when you want to be there.
Are you arriving in Florence on the second and going directly to CT that day? And returning the next day on the 3rd to Florence? That is almost too quick for CT. You would hardly be there for more than a few hours plus sleeping. It is roughly a 3 hr train ride from Florence.
A one night stop is hardly worth the effort. You'll probably arrive in the afternoon, which will only leave the arrival evening to look around one of the five towns. The next morning you'd be on your way back to Florence. At this late date, it could also be difficult to get a hotel booking in July.
If you're going to be staying in Florence at that time, it might be better to take a day trip to the C.T. instead of staying for one night. If you plan for a long day, you would be able to see the five towns.
Thank you for the feed back.
