One more question about a EU digital certificate

Hello All

I am still confused about this whole situation. We are traveling to Rome in March. We all fully vaccinated and boosted (within the time frame allowed). We will be taking our CDC (white cards). Do we need anything else to access most venues (restaurants, museums, stores)? I am reading about this digital EU certificate. Is this required? Can US citizens get it? How do I get it if it is required? British Airways does tell me how non-EU members can get this certificate. Anyone have clarity on this subject?

Thank you

Your CDC card is equivalent to the Super Green Pass/EU certificate. We are taking our hard copy CDC card and digital form (QR code from our own state’s department of health, saved on phone). You will need to fill out the passenger locator form. EU-PLF. for first arrival in Italy. This also provides a QR code (saved as pdf on phone, but we’re also carrying hard copy). We depart for Italy in three weeks.

QR codes generated by U.S. states cannot be read by European countries and mean nothing outside your state. The CDC card is all you need.

Good to know. Thanks.
“ The QR code on Canada vaccine is not compatible with the scanning App “VerificaC19” used by service providers in Italy. Carry a hard copy of your certificate.”

If no to Canada QR probably no to US QR.

i suggest you make copies of your card and keep the original in your hotel room safe. you can use the copies to gain entrance to places. we put ours in plastic sleeve and most officials just glanced at them or wanted to check the dates on them. if you lose your card over there...you are stuck.
