first trip with friends to Italy - approx 1 month. Have been waiting my whole life for this. As this group has been so helpful with other questions could you cast an eye over for any problems.
Day 1 - Zurich to Como by train. 3 nights TBD. Day 4 - Milan. Day 5 early Train Milan- Verona- Venice(3 nights in Venice)Day 8 afternoon Train to Florence(3 nights)Day 11- pick up car, drive to agriturismo in Tuscany TBD (4 nights) Day 14. drop car in Pisa. late train to CT - 3 nights Day 17 train to Rome(4nights)Day 21- train Sorrento (4 nights see area, Pompeii Capri. Day 25 Rome and fly out.

Sounds like so much fun!! Congrats on it!!
Just my opinion but I'd take a day off Rome and add to Sorrento and see more of the Amalfi Coast.

Kent, 1. The flight 'should' leave at 19.20 to Singapore and then after 2 nights home to OZ. We could cut a day off Rome or Sorrento and stay in Rome if really necessary. 2. Do you know how long it will take to drive up from near Siena to Pisa? I would like to base myself in that area but could stay further north in Tuscany if the drive is too long to Pisa where we drop the car and train to CT in the same day.

The Amalfi coast and Isle of Capri are so beautiful. I'd recommend staying in Positano and taking a day trip to Capri. Boats leave from the beach about 10am. You can also easily book a day trip to Pompeii from your hotel. I think Positano is more quaint and pretty than Sorrento.

probably a good idea as we fly out from there. I had thought a relaxing time in Amalfi area would be a lovely way to end the trip. Have to make up my mind soon though...
