One day in Rome

I have a friend who is doing a cruise ending in Rome. They are staying in Rome that night. The ship docks about 7am. They were planning on taking an Uber to the hotel by the airport (unless someone has a better idea) and they would like to see the sights in Rome with a limited amount of time. I have taken Walks of Italy and was very pleases but I dont think their times will match up. They want to see Coloseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Pantheom all the usual tourist site. They dont really care if they do the Vatican with the short amount of time.

Thanks for any help!

I would google day tours in Rome, and check on Trip Adivsor to see the reviews of various tours, if that is what they are looking for. I'm taking a cruise with my dad this summer and I have arranged a pre- cruise private tour and a post cruise private tour. In both cases we will be picked up at the airport/ship and taken around to see the sights with our luggage in tow and then dropped where we need to be.

Maybe your friend wants to go on their own?

With my dad at his age and our limited time we have a half day tour in Barcelona and a full day tour in Athens. It seems like a nice easy way to see the sights and it wasn't even as expensive as the cruise excursions, and it will be tailored to our desires.

Check out toursbylocals.com. We used guides off a cruise in Edinburgh and Dublin. We were picked up at the terminal, saw the prearranged sights we had agreed upon, and they got us back to the ship in plenty of time. We were 4 people and it was less expensive than the excursions. When we decided on a tour guide, I emailed him what we wanted to see and asked if it was feasible because of traffic, etc. he helped us tweak it a little, told us what to pre-book and how much time for each. It worked out great.
