One day in Pisa, hotel?

After 4 nights in monterosso I will travel to Pisa and spend one night prior to flying home. My friends have mentioned a fabulous piazza.

I will take the train sometime in the and my flight leaves the following day from Pisa at 1305
Any budget hotel suggestions near places to walk around and enjoy people watching on my last day?

Thx

ETA ok scrap budget lol. I like the reviews and location of hotel Pisa tower. My 2015 RS book says a db costs 80euro but their website shows 130 euros. Do his books show off season rates or am I missing a discount?

Hotel vs annex is it worth the few extra $ for hotel?

The fabulous piazza is Piazza Duomo, familiarly aka Campo dei Miracoli. The historical center of Pisa is tiny. Any hotel in the city center will be walking distance from it. Do a search online using the map feature to see locations. TripAdvisor reviews are a reliable source of info to find out if a hotel is good, more than the anecdotal evidence from one of us here.

Your travel date probably will affect the price, although Rick usually aims to show high season, not low. For sample dates in May or June, I find a double (not the economy double) for 109 or 119 euros, but that price includes breakfast, which Rick has listed separately at 10 euros per person.

Several years ago we stayed at the Hotel Bologna, located half way between the train station and the Leaning Tower. The property is very nice, the staff is first rate, and their breakfast is substantial.

An extra benefit of this hotel is that if you book through their website only they provide free shuttle service to and from the airport or train station. http://www.hotelbologna.pisa.it/default_en.php

You can people watch in Pisa as long as you do it before 9pm. After that the streets are empty except in the university quarter, which is just across the Arno.

Buon viaggio,

I just booked the Hotel Pisa Tower for 1 night.
I am sure like most every hotel the rate varies based on season and day of the week.
Tip: Go to their website first and click on the book now button, which takes you to Booking.com anyway and make the booking that way.
Same price to you but you then can choose either free secure parking, free bottle of wine or late check out.
Helped me cause I needed the parking which booking shows as extra but the hotel confirmed since I clicked the link from their website I would not be charged for the parking.

It seemed to me like the best option to be within walking distance of the Tower/Piazza which is what I wanted.
