One day in Milan

My wife and I would like to see the Last Supper and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for that? Some tours are sold out and we are going to be there on October 3. We have also looked at the food tours, what do people think of those.

Thanks,

Bill,

I can’t recommend any tours that include a visit to the Last Supper.

However, when I arrived to the ticket office to pick up my ticket for the Last Supper this past May, I overheard a young couple asking if there were any tickets available for that day. The woman behind the counter checked her computer and told them there were tickets available for 4pm.

So... If you weren’t able to book your tickets in advance (or can’t find a tour) there may still be tickets available when you get to Milan.
I’d suggest getting to the ticket office when they open at 8:15AM (Tuesday -Sunday)

Having said this, you may try asking for ticket availability the day before, if you get there before they close.

I’ve not taken any food tours, but hopefully others will offer their suggestions.

Have a wonderful trip!

Bill,
I agree with Priscilla. I haven't done a food tour there, but a fun meal can be had at Piz. It's a wonderful experience. You are greeted with a glass of proseco and a pimiento. Dinner offers only 3 types of pizza, but it is authentic. After dinner, the meloncello (and the many other iterations - hazelnut, pistachio, lemoncello) are wonderful. Super fun and delicious.

When we were unable to book tickets to the Last Supper we booked a tour through Viator. I'm not sure which one since they have several but it was better than I expected since we were basically being forced to buy a tour just to see the Last Supper. I'm sure it was one of the cheaper ones. We traveled by bus and the opera house was more interesting that anticipated.

A few years ago, with very limited time in Milan, I took a walking tour with Dark Rome Tours, which concluded with a visit to The Last Supper. The tour was 3 or 3 1/2 hours, fine, but not special. I just checked their web site, they still offer the same tour, now at US $94, but it says their Oct 3 tour is already sold out. I expect other companies offer similar tours. Good luck!
