OMG, A Hotel & Restaurant in Paestum

I don't write reviews unless I'm really knocked out by a place, in a good way. Hence this report. If you are planning on visiting the stunning ruins of Paestum (and you really should) and want a hotel very close by see if you can get a room at the Tenuta Duca Marigliano. This is a wonderful old estate mansion turned into a 19-room boutique hotel, and they have done it VERY well. But, the part that was truly off the charts was their restaurant, the Casa Coloni. Best meal we have had in Italy ever. Yep. The chef is extraordinary and treated us to three different mini tasting samplings (of six or so items each) of his interpretations of various foods, breads and desserts. Hard to describe but these, in addition to the entrees and artichokes and dessert we also ordered, were gourmet perfect. I'd post pictures but there's no way to do that here. Rick doesn't mention this place and I'm not sure why because it is just perfetto. https://www.tenutaducamarigliano.it/

This is great! We’re staying in Minori next month for a week. I’ve been figuring out how to get to Paestum and the buffalo mozzarella farms in one day. Now I’m thinking an overnight in Paestum would be perfect. Thank you for this post!
