Thinking of staying at an apartment rental in Florence in oltrarno...any advice?

We stayed in an apartment on that side of the river and absolutely loved being out of the tourist hubbub. Our little piazza had a bar, a gelato shop and a couple of restaurants. What more could one want? Have fun.
