Oltrarno Restaurant Recommendation

My husband and I are flying to Florence tomorrow (staying in the Oltrarno) and I was hoping someone could help us out with a recommendation for a reasonably priced restaurant in the Oltrarno for our first night. We arrive in Florence around 3pm and we will probably nap for a while and would like to find somewhere we could eat later in the evening that is not too expensive, say around 50 - 60 Euro.
Thanks in advance!!

Staying where in Oltrarno? Used generically Oltrarno can describe a relatively large area, so I'm going to assume you'll be within reasonable walking distance of the Piazza Santo Spirito area. I'm also going to assume "later in the evening" means around 9:00pm.

One reliable choice for a good reasonably priced dinner is Trattoria la Casalinga, which is just a short block from the piazza. They're often fully booked for dinner, but sometimes you can get a table without a reservation right when they open at 7:00pm or after 9:00pm. A better option would be to call or email them with a reservation request either this evening or during lunch tomorrow (the sooner after they open at noon the better).

Another good but slightly more expensive choice is Trattoria Giovanni, about 2 blocks from the piazza in the opposite direction. They're busy at dinner but not sure if they're always full. Again, a reservation request would be wise. Note that they also have really good, very reasonably priced lunch specials Monday-Saturday, and getting a table for 2 at lunch is rarely a problem.

Hi,

I will be staying on Via dei Serragli, so Santo Spirito is no problem. I will check out both places you recommended and you are right about "later" meaning around 9pm!

Thanks!

We had a nice lunch at Gusta Osteria, which is right around the corner from Santo Spirito. Small place, excellent pasta and quite reasonably priced.

I've stayed in an apartment on Via Serragli a couple of times; and while I don't have any restaurant recommendations, the best gelato in Florence, IMHO, is right at the end of the street on the left before you cross the Ponte Carraia.
I believe it's called Gelateria Carraia.
Mmm!
Have a lovely trip.
