Call me odd, but I enjoy walking through old cemeteries, looking at the headstones. Is there a cemetery you would recommend in or around Rome that would be convenient by way of metro or bus (I won't have a car)? Thank you!
Definitely check out the Protestant Cemetery. Its most famous residents are Keats and Shelley:

I did a Google image search and yes, that is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!
That's a good one! It's also an easy trip by metro B: take it to Pyramid.
I thought you'd like it. (^_^)
Has anybody been to both to compare?
Antonio Gramsci is also at the Protestant cemetery.
If you go online, you will see pictures of Campo Verano and the "Protestant" Cemetery and a list of notables buried at each. No such information found for the poor souls buried in the mass grave at Muro Torto.
Keith - I will do that. Thank you.
