I am new to the site. I have 2 private messages that I am trying to open. I sign in and click on the messages, and the site asks me to sign in again. It never allows me to open the messages. It just keeps asking me to sign in over and over. I have emailed the webmaster and no reply. Anyone know what I am doing wrong and how I can open and read the private messages. And thanks, Anthony, for whatever the answer might be.
First, you're not a dunce. No worries there.
After you sign in, it should say "Jip" in the upper right, beside the words Sign Out | My Profile
When you click My Profile, you should see your private messages.
When you click on one, under the Subject column, it should open. If it won't, something's wrong that you have no control over.
The webmaster doesn't work on weekends. Maybe he can get to this Monday or Tuesday.
Try opening through Mozilla Firefox. Sometimes the other browsers won't let you through.
Jip: I would have sent you this message by PM, if you were able to open your PM's:)
If you follow Patrick's instructions and it still happens, contact the Webmaster on Monday as Patrick suggests.
What you describe has occasionally happened to me, one of the mysteries of the internet, I guess. When it happened to me, either it fixed itself (the next time I logged on or after a Restart), or one time the Webmaster was able to resolve it, not sure what he did but contacting him worked when all else failed.
If you don't hear from the Webmaster by sometime Monday, send me a Private Message and I'll work on it (no guarantees but I know a couple of people).
Ok, thanks everyone. Still not in but will try on Monday and let you know how it goes
If I could find a booklet of travelers checks that actually WORKED in Europe I'd put them on Ebay.
Jip - The actual answer is to use Internet Explorer rather than any other site to sign into Rick's site - then you'll be 100% OK
Greg
Jip, if you are using aol, go out of it and go back into the RS site by using Internet Explorer. For some reason aol seems to block it up.
I have no problem on either Firefox or Google Chrome. But before you beat yourself up..it could be a problem at the server end.
Surprising you can sign in to post but not get PM's?
Thanks everyone. AOL was the problem. I know what you are thinking...Why can't I give it up, yadayadayada. The answer -- just because!! :)
That's okay, Jip, you stick with what you're comfortable with.
Now that the PM problem is solved, Would you like us to answer any questions about travelers checks? :)
Could you possibly send me a booklet of travelers checks I could use in Europe?? :) We would be friends forever!!
